The fifth-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers four internal-combustion powertrains, highlighted by Chevrolet's new Gen 6 small-block V8 family. The previous 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s are replaced by new 5.7-liter L76 and 6.6-liter L78 V8 engines, respectively. Chevrolet has not yet released final horsepower and torque figures for either V8, but the larger 6.6-liter is positioned as the higher-output option.
The Silverado's other engines also provide some continuity with the previous generation. An enhanced 2.7-liter L4B TurboMax four-cylinder returns as the entry-level engine but is now paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0-liter LZ0 Duramax inline-six turbo-diesel carries over as the diesel option, continuing to give the Silverado a powertrain choice increasingly rare among light-duty pickups. Together, the four-engine lineup gives buyers a choice between TurboMax value, two levels of V8 performance, and diesel towing and efficiency.
Every 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes standard with a substantially upgraded digital cockpit, regardless of trim level. The centerpiece is a 16.3-inch center touchscreen, accompanied by a 12.2-inch digital Driver Information Center. Making both displays standard means even work-oriented and entry-level Silverado configurations receive the same core screen sizes as more expensive versions, rather than reserving the largest displays for upper trims.
Connectivity is similarly comprehensive, with Google built-in, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto providing multiple ways to access navigation, media, and smartphone functions. Chevrolet also makes the Chevy Safety Assist suite standard across the lineup, bringing key driver-assistance technologies to every Silverado. New trucks additionally include eight years of OnStar Basics, further expanding the connectivity and safety features included with the redesigned 2027 model.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 begins a new generation with a complete redesign inside and out. Chevrolet officially revealed the truck on June 16, 2026, introducing a bolder exterior design and a substantially more digital cabin. Every trim receives a new 16.3-inch center touchscreen and 12.2-inch driver information display, while select upper trims can add an 11.5-inch passenger display.
Chevrolet also retains a four-engine strategy but significantly revises the powertrain lineup. The enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax now pairs with a 10-speed automatic, while the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel continues. Two next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8s replace the previous V8 offerings, although Chevrolet has not yet announced their final horsepower and torque figures. The redesigned Silverado is officially scheduled to go on sale in late 2026, with Chevrolet stating that pricing and more detailed availability information will be announced closer to launch.
